Our Philosophy


We believe there are 3 essential ingredients to achieving and maintaining personal wellness:

Choices:  There are many paths to achieving fitness/wellness with each person’s optimal pathway being unique.  Become educated on and explore these options to select a pathway you enjoy and desire to perform regularly or identify alternatives to your current fitness routine.

Commitment:  A personal vision for fitness/wellness and SMART goals are the keys to success.  We assist you in crystallizing your vision into a specific plan of action to achieve your goals and provide the tools for measuring your success.  Whether your goal is to regain a level of fitness you once enjoyed or prepare for a particular challenge, we will assist you in defining the most efficient and effective pathway to fulfill your vision.

Action:  “Change requires action!”  Facilitated sessions with our certified fitness coaches ensure you are maximizing your results for your effort in the least amount of time so you can enjoy life.  Between your sessions with the fitness coach, ongoing coaching is provided via phone and e-mail ensuring accountability to your plan.

 


Our Fitness Coaches

Our owner, Cathy Fisher, has been passionate about fitness since the age of 12. She began strength training to prepare for a pit crew competition so she could reach her goal as one of the fastest women in NASCAR™ to change a tire on a race car; she achieved that goal in 8 seconds flat! Although strength training was the main focus for most of her life, she has developed an appreciation for the importance of all dimensions of wellness, including cardio-endurance, flexibility, balance, nutrition and positive lifestyle habits.

Our Owner's Certifications
Cathy brings a wide range of training and experience as a fitness coach to New World Wellness Center, having achieved personal trainer certifications through International Sports Sciences Association™, National Academy of Sports Medicine™, and World Instructor Training School™.  She is the first to have fulfilled Part 1 and 2 requirements for registration as a Personal Fitness trainer through the National Board of Fitness Examiners, (NBFE).  She is also certified by Aerobics and Fitness Association of America™ as a group fitness instructor, Yoga Alliance™ as a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and is a Stott™ Pilates certified intstructor trained in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels.  Cathy continues to expand her knowledge and skills in the wellness industry, currently working towards her Doctor of Naturopathy degree through Clayton College of Natural Health™. 

Our Community Involvement
Cathy balances her involvement in the fitness industry through a business development consultancy organization, Quality Improvement Strategies, she started in 1996 after working as an engineer in the automotive industry for over 15 years.  She has personally experienced the benefits of improved wellness in her own life and the positive effects a healthy lifestyle has made on the success of her other businesses.
